Ashley’s journey to serve others with curly hair began in 2017. With the lack of education on textured hair and feeling frustrated and not confident in her own hair. She decided to take on curly hair head on. Her dedication shows through her diverse clientele of all ages, ethnicities, genders and hair types! She has a deep passion for textured hair, and loves educating clients on how to love their hair and how to work with their natural hair.
Lorraine began her hairstylist journey in 2020. As a proud “girls’ girl,” she’s deeply passionate about helping others recognize and embrace their true beauty. Behind the chair, Lorraine is committed to making each guest feel seen, heard, and valued — during their visit and long after. She offers a range of services, with a special love for curls, braids, and lived-in color. Lorraine is thrilled to be part of the Haus of Rizos team and can’t wait to welcome you soon!
Haus of Rizos has been a long time coming! Over the past 7 years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to learning the art of cutting, coloring, washing, and styling all curl textures without compromising our clients’ curls. It all began when the owner entered cosmetology school with a desire to embrace her curls. However, she soon realized that the curriculum didn’t focus on natural hair; instead, it promoted straightening. Then she learned how to curl her hair with a curling iron which ended in damaging her hair in hair school and not feeling confident in her own hair due to it.
There is an overwhelmingly amount of curl information online but there were many rules in the curly community with certain products and how often you wash your hair, etc, it felt like a cult for curly hair. That’s when Owner Ashley decided that she will learn the science of curls to help her own hair and once know understood what her hair needed, she knew that she could help guide other women in their curl journey without feeling overwhelmed and ashamed for not doing what the curly community says you have to do!
